STCU blood drive Aug. 28

Inland Northwest Blood Center along with the Cheney Community Blood Drive volunteers, led by Duane Isaac, will be coordinating a blood drive Friday, Aug. 28, at the Spokane Teachers Credit Union Cheney branch, 2718 First St.

Donation hours are from 1:15 – 5 p.m.

INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.

Mamanakis book signing

Cheney Historical Museum director and author Joan Mamanakis will be signing copies of her book “Images of America Cheney” at the New Boundary Brewing Company, 505 First St., on Friday, Aug. 28 from 4 – 6 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of the book will support museum operations.

New Boundary Brewing is the first brewery and taproom to operate in Cheney in 105 years.

Feed Cheney supper

Feed Cheney’s last brown bag supper of the summer will be at 5:30 p.m. next Monday, Aug, 31, in Veterans Park at 615 Fourth St., across from the Wren Pierson Community Center. All are welcome at the free meal and free grocery distribution.
