Car club pancake feed

The Stars and Stripes, Boots and Spurs Car Club invites the public to its second annual pancake feed Saturday, March 21, from 8 – 11 a.m. at the Cheney Faith Center, 300 N. Second St.

Breakfast is $8 adults, $4 children age 10 and under. There will also be door prizes.

All proceeds benefit Cheney Junior Rodeo and the veteran’s organization Time of Remembrance – families of our fallen heroes.

Eco Green Compost sale

Cheney’s Eco Green compost will be sold on the first and last Friday of each month, beginning Friday, March 27, and running to the beginning of October.

The supply is plentiful this year. The cost is unchanged at $14 per cubic yard (including sales tax). Bulk compost will be loaded into customer vehicles between noon and 3 p.m. at the city’s wastewater treatment plant, 119 Anderson Road. 

Customers should stop first at the Utility Building, 112 Anderson Road, to pay at the office and then follow the signs out to the loading area at the plant. Contact the Public Works Department at 498-9293 for more information.

Deer Advisory presentation

A community outreach information presentation will be held on Saturday, March 28, at Medical Lake City Hall from 9 a.m. – noon. This is being presented to support the new city of Medical Lake Ordinance No. 1031.

The featured participants include Eva Lusk, Washington State University master gardener; Washington State Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and city of Medical Lake along with information from local businesses. Topics include deer resistant landscapes, gardening and deterrents.
