Honoring a supporter

Officials from the city of Cheney and the Cheney-Spokane Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute dedicated the IAFI information kiosk at the city's visitor's center in memory of former City Councilman Mike McKeehan at a ceremony last Thursday. IAFI member Dave Daugharty said McKeehan was instrumental in getting the kiosk frame, which was restored, enhanced and set up by Cheney High School graduate Daniel France as his Eagle Scout project, and served as the council liaison to the Cheney-Spokane chapter from 2008-2012.

France spoke about the positive influence McKeehan had on him as a student in the former teacher's classes. McKeehan passed away in 2012.
