Eastern soccer hits road, then has homestand

FROM NEWS SERVICE REPORTS

The Eastern Washington University women's soccer team will travel to familiar Hillsboro Stadium, home of Big Sky Conference foe PSU. But this trip to Portland will not include a match against the Vikings.

Instead, the opening round of the Viking Classic on Friday (Sept. 7) will find the Eagles matched up against Utah State at 6 p.m. The Eagles will close the weekend against Boise State Sunday (Sept. 9) at 11 a.m.

The Aggies are 5-1-1 this season with a win against new Big Sky school Southern Utah in a preseason exhibition match

Boise State just snapped a three game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win against Idaho State

A win over Boise State has eluded the Eagles for over a decade. In eleven season matchups, the record stands at 10-0-1, in favor of the Broncos.

Eastern returns home for the first of four contests, Friday, Sept. 14 facing Idaho at 4 p.m. and at 1 p.m. Sept. 16 versus Hawaii before beginning Big Sky play Sept. 21 (Weber State) and Sept. 23 (Idaho State).
