Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us as we celebrate the First Sunday in Lent this Sunday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor David Ophus will preside. Faith Building classes for all ages begins at 9 a.m.

All are welcome to join us this Wednesday evening as we begin our mid week Lenten soup supper and worship. Supper is served at 5:30 followed by Holden Evening Prayer at 6:30. Mid week Lenten services will be held through Wednesday, April 13.

Lutheran Campus Ministries Eighth Annual Auction will be held this Saturday, March 12 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Spokane. Tickets are $15 per person or $100 for a table of eight. This once-a-year fundraiser helps support LCM's various programs for Eastern Washington University students throughout the year. Please plan to attend.

Church of the Nazarene

Please join us at the Cheney Church of the Nazarene for worship and Bible study programs throughout the week; child care is provided. Sunday School (infants through adults) begins at 9:15 a.m. Worship services begin at 10:30 a.m. On Wednesday evenings, you are invited to attend an evening of fellowship and study for all age groups: Kids Konnection (ages 3-12) starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening adult Bible study programs and Youth Group begin at 6:30 p.m. 338 Betz Road, Cheney, (509) 235-6261. http://www.cheneynaz.org.

The First Sunday in Lent: Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule, priest, will preach and preside. Child care is available.

Our Lenten Study series will commence Wednesday, March 16 and continue each Wednesday through April 13. We will gather at 6 p.m. for soup and bread followed by sharing and reflection on J. Philip Newell's book, Listening for the Heartbeat of God. We will close with a short service. All are welcome.

No Fellowship Breakfast this week.

Attention college students: Every Monday night at 6 p.m., gather with Rev. Soule for Bible study, short prayer service and dinner in the Parish Hall. Learn of service opportunities. Come and bring your friends.

Narcotics Anonymous meets in the Parish Hall each Tuesday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

United Church of Christ

At the United Church of Christ there are three opportunities to learn more about God's word and His work on Sunday, March 13. First, all are welcome to the Sunday worship service led by Pastor Joan Sulser, starting at 10 a.m., with child care available in the Christian Education building from 15 minutes before the service to 15 minutes afterward. School-age children are invited to attend the service through the Children's Minutes and then go to Christian Education classes for the rest of the time.

Second, church members may attend the service for the residents of the Cheney Care Center at 3 p.m. and join in the singing.

Third, the pastor will teach a Christianity 101 class on The Bible at 6:30 Sunday evening.

All interested men are welcome to join in breakfast conversation in the upper room at Willow Springs Restaurant, starting at 7:45 a.m. before the service. Sharing fellowship and snacks after the service is another time when we all catch up on each others' news and discuss our reactions to the sermon. Come join us!

The Retirees dine on their potluck dishes at their noon luncheon on Thursday, March 10. Council meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

Once again, committee chairs, the deadline for Table Talk articles is nigh. Please email them to the church office by March 16.

United Methodist Church

Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour so you can be right on time for worship and study opportunities at the Cheney United Methodist Church! Please join us for worship this Sunday at 10 a.m. Leading this week's service will be Pastor Terry Hall. Preceding the worship hour are Sunday school classes – an adult class begins at 8:30 a.m. and classes for children 3 and over begin at 9 a.m. Child care is available during the worship service. Please stay for fellowship following the worship and get to know one another better.

There is another fellowship opportunity Sunday evening as the Adult Fellowship gathers at the church at 6 p.m. The evening begins with a potluck meal followed by fun and conversation.

Each Wednesday evening during Lent there will be a simple soup supper at the church. All meals start at 6:30 p.m. followed by a discussion of Methodist history, structure and principles for those who are able to stay.
