  • Medical Lake dominates Chewelah 44-0 in finale

    PAUL DELANEY, Staff Reporter|Updated Nov 6, 2014

Medical Lake was scary good on Halloween in their Northeast A League season finale, rolling up a 44-0 win over the Chewelah Cougars. The Cardinals saved their best football for last as they offered up their most complete defensive game, and not a bad one on the offensive side. Medical Lake won their third game in the last four outings, finishing 3-4 in the NEA and 4-5 overall. “Defense in general played a lot better, we tackled well, we got to their quarterback, stayed home (...

  • Blackhawks battle Bantams, officials, in playoff soccer loss

    John McCallum, Editor|Updated Nov 6, 2014

Any Cheney athlete, coach or fan — current or former — will tell you it’s always difficult to play in Clarkston. That was the case again last Thursday in the Cheney High girls’ soccer team’s elimination round playoff game with the host Bantams, a match up between the Great Northern League’s No. 3 and No. 4 seeded teams. Except for an early defensive breakdown, the Lady Blackhawks played the Bantams even, if not better at...
