    It's certainly been a tumultuous time for Eastern Washington University volleyball the past several seasons. But the ups and downs that surrounded the return for former head coach Wade Benson, his stepping away to battle cancer, his return, and finally the resignation due to health concerns are history. Benson, who had guided Eastern to unmatched success early in his coaching career, and who was hired away in 2006 by Auburn University, returned to Cheney for the 2013 season....

    The Eastern Washington University soccer team erupted for four goals in the second half against the University of British Columbia to win an exhibition contest, 4-1, on Aug. 13 in Cheney. Junior Savannah Hoekstra scored two goals in just 48 seconds to rally the Eagles from a 1-0 first-half deficit.
