    Over 3,000 electricity customers lost power this morning (Thursday, Aug. 13) due to the return of a past foe of all-things electrical equipment — the tiny squirrel. Cheney Light Department Director Steve Boorman said a squirrel managed to find its way into a piece of equipment at the city’s main substation along Cheney-Plaza Road, the result of which knocked out power to both Cheney and Inland Power and Light customers.     The West Plains Bandits 16U softball team finished fourth at the 16U/18U B State Metro Qualifier for Nationals tournament July 11 and qualified for the Western B Nationals tournament in Spokane, played last week. The Bandits went 2-2 at State Metro, losing 9-7 and 5-2 to the Spokane Mudhens and Northwest Wildfire 18U, respectively, but defeating the Spokane Stealth and Spokane Diamonds 8-7 and 11-10.
