    AL STOVER, Staff Reporter|Updated Mar 10, 2016

Over the last year there hasn’t been a bigger star in mixed martial arts star than current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. The Irish champion changed the landscape of the sport when he defeated Chad Mendes to become the UFC interim featherweight champion in July 2015 and knocked out then-titleholder Jose Aldo in 13 seconds, at UFC 194, to unify the 145-pound championship. He finally gets his chance as he was named Cheney High School’s new boys soccer head coach in January, taking the field with his 2016 Blackhawks team this past week as spring sports practices began Feb. 29. Hartanov replaces Mark Kiver, who stepped down in December 2015 after years with the Blackhawks, beginning as a Cheney player and culminating as...

Could it be a punishing drive through the paint with elbows flailing and that grin at the finish? Or, perhaps, a thunderous two-hand slam-dunk, the other trademark shot the Australian has delivered quite regularly in his EWU career? As it turned out, the points that moved Jois past Cox, a record that has stood for...
